FUNCTIONS OF CODE OF CONDUCT FOR UNIVERSITY STAFF IN NIGERIA

Abstract

In this study, the concept and functions of code of conduct for university staff were discussed. It highlights causes of misconduct, key challenges in developing and enforcing conduct standards, and explores current global practices in staff professional behaviour. Drawing on recent policy examples and scholarly frameworks, this work proposes solutions and recommendations to improve code formulation and compliance in higher education. The study underscores that well-crafted codes promote ethical practice, institutional integrity, respect, and a conducive learning environment.
