Abstract

This study argues that principals' strategic communication is more than the transmission of information. it is a vital leadership tool for effective management of secondary schools. Through purposeful communication, principals strengthen relationships, facilitate informed decision-making, encourage teamwork, resolve problems, and promote the active participation of teachers, students, parents, and other stakeholders. These practices enhance school effectiveness by aligning stakeholders with the school's vision and goals. The paper examines the shift from traditional communication to digital communication technologies and discusses their implications for school leadership and stakeholder engagement. It also identifies major challenges affecting the implementation of strategic communication in secondary schools and proposes practical strategies for improvement. The paper concludes that principals should promote transparency, accountability, and inclusive communication through appropriate channels and digital platforms to strengthen collaboration, improve school administration, and achieve sustainable educational goals. Strategic communication should therefore be regarded as an indispensable leadership resource for effective management of secondary schools.
