The study examined principals’ decision-making competences as predictor of teachers’ productivity in public secondary schools in Anambra State. One research question guided the study and one null hypothesis was tested at 0.05 level of significance. Correlational research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprised 5147 teachers in 268 public secondary schools in six Education Zones in Anambra State. The sample of 515 teachers (10% of the population) was used for the study. Stratified and simple random sampling technique was used for the study. The instrument for data collected was a structured questionnaire which was validated by three experts in education. The data collected were analyzed using Cronbach Alpha Coefficient method which yielded coefficient value of 0.88 for the instrument. Simple regression analysis was used to answer the research question and hypothesis. The study revealed that principals’ decision-making competences ((r = 0.664; P0.05 < 0.000)) positively and significantly predict teachers’ productivity in public secondary schools in Anambra State to a high extent. Based on these findings, the researcher recommended that administrators of public secondary schools should be made to understand not just decision-making competence but also the benefits of other forms of competences in order to enhance teachers’ productivity in schools.
