PROMOTING DIGITALIZATION OF PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS THROUGH PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMMES IN ANAMBRA STATE

The main purpose of the study was to determine ways of promoting digitalization of public secondary schools through public private partnership programmes in Anambra State. Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. The descriptive survey research design guided the study. The population of the study comprised 266 principals of public secondary schools in Anambra State. Two structured validated questionnaires were used to collect data for the study. The reliability of the instrument was determined through a pilot test. Application of Cronbach Alpha method on the data collected yielded reliability coefficient values of 0.84 and 0.80 for clusters 1 and 2 respectively with an overall reliability coefficient value of 0.82 for the first instrument and reliability co-efficient value of 0.87 for the second instrument. Mean, standard deviation and t-test was used to analyze data for the study. Findings of the study revealed that public private partnership funding programmes will provide infrastructure and professional training for promoting digitalization of public secondary schools in Anambra State to a high extent. Based on these findings the researcher concludes that public private partnership programmes would help to promote the digitalization of secondary education in Anambra State. Based on the findings, the researcher recommended among others that Federal and State Government in conjunction with administrators of secondary schools should show strong leadership commitment by mapping out policies and programmes targeted at fostering the digitalization of secondary schools.
