SOURCES OF AGRICULTURAL INFORMATION AMONG FISH FARMERS IN ORLU AGRICULTURAL ZONE OF IMO STATE

Abstract

The study examined the sources of agricultural information among fish farmers. The study area was Orlu agricultural zone of Imo State. 100 fish farmers were only selected for the study for data collection. The data for the study was obtained through the structured interview techniques whose items borders on various sources of information. The data obtained was analyzed using the percentage method. The study revealed among other things that the fish farmers in Orlu agricultural zone obtain information on fish farming through two main sources namely agro friends and relatives which the study claimed to be unreliable sources. The study recommended that extension service delivery should be overhauled, agricultural information be related to agro input stores owners among others.
