Abstract

The study investigated the parental involvement in instilling moral values in their children in public secondary schools in Anambra State. Through simple random sampling technique, Awka education zone was selected for the study, and using the same technique, Awka Local government area was selected. The population of the study comprised 1,061 SS2 students in the 19 public secondary schools in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State. A sample of 265 students (25 % of the population) selected using cluster sampling of the first stream/arm of SS2 class in each of the six large public secondary school in Awka South Local Government Area picked through stratified sampling technique participated in the study. The study adopted descriptive survey design. The researcher-developed instrument, expertly validated by three lecturers proficient in psychometrics in the Faculty of Education, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University was used for data collection. Mean scores and standard deviation were used in data analysis and the results showed that parents still inculcated moral values in their children. Recommendations were advanced.
