Abstract

This study examined the role of job satisfaction in keeping employees in workplaces influenced by artificial intelligence (AI), highlighting the importance of human-AI cooperation to maintain a healthy work environment. The discussion revealed that AI changes work processes and roles. This can bring both positive and negative effects on employee satisfaction. The study showed that when AI helps reduce repetitive tasks and supports workers, job satisfaction tends to rise. However, when AI replaces human roles or creates uncertainty, satisfaction can fall, leading to higher turnover. Also, it was posited that clear communication, training, and involving employees in AI adoption helped improve satisfaction and retention. Leaders who guide workers through AI changes play a key role in this process. The study used various sources from African and international authors between 2018 and 2024 to build its points. The research emphasized that AI should not fully replace human work but should be integrated carefully. The study concluded that balancing AI with strong human resource strategies is essential to keep employees satisfied and willing to stay in their jobs. The study recommended more investment in employee-friendly AI tools, ongoing training, and clear policies for AI use. It also suggested further research to understand better how AI impacts job satisfaction and employee loyalty over time.
