Abstract

The study assessed the influence of fish farmers socio economic characteristics and their level of training needs. Anambra State served as the area of the study. A null hypothesis was texted there is no significant influence of the fish farmers socio economic characteristics and their level of training needs. The population comprised of all the fish farmers in Anambra State and 120 fish farmers were selected randomly for data collection.  Structured questionnaire was used obtaining the data, the questionnaire items border on the various socio-economic variables of farmers. The hypothesis stated for the study was tested using the multiple linear regression analysis. The study showed that fish farmer socio economic characteristic influence significantly their level of training needs on fish farming practices such as education, extension contact among others.
