Abstract

This paper explored the dynamics of financial management and resource allocation within secondary schools in Anambra State, Nigeria, particularly in the context of the burgeoning influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. It highlights the critical role of effective financial management in optimizing available resources, enhancing educational quality, and ensuring accountability. The research identifies key challenges faced by school leaders, including budgetary constraints, a lack of financial literacy, corruption, and inadequate infrastructure. It also examines the potential of AI to revolutionize financial practices through data-driven decision-making, predictive budgeting, and resource optimization. To improve financial management, the paper advocates for comprehensive professional development, the adoption of advanced technologies, stakeholder engagement in budgeting processes, diversified funding sources, and regular financial audits. By implementing these strategic recommendations, secondary schools in Anambra State cannot only address existing financial challenges but also leverage AI to facilitate informed decision-making and improve educational outcomes. This research underscores the necessity of a proactive approach to financial management in educational leadership, ensuring sustainable development in the era of digital transformation.
