A SECURED INTELLIGENT SYSTEM FOR RANKING POLYTECHNICS AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGICAL INSTITUTIONS IN NIGERIA

Abstract

Ranking of tertiary institutions has become a global annual phenomenon to determine the ones that are performing well based on specified criteria or performance indicators. As part of the quality assurance activities of the National Board for Technical Education, Polytechnics and similar institutions under its purview are ranked from time to time. Up till now, this ranking by the Board is being manually carried out. This manual approach has proven to be deficient in terms of precision and comprehensiveness. To automate the process and achieve a balanced and explainable ranking process, we have in this study developed a secured and intelligent software for quick, efficient and accurate ranking of technological Institutions under the regulatory purview of the Board. Preliminary results show that the secured and intelligent system simplifies the cumbersome process and would enable this ranking to be done annually by the Board.
