Abstract

The study investigated the infrastructure constraints to the effective implementation of the Agricultural Value Chain Development Programme in Anambra State. The population for the study consisted of all the rice farmers beneficiaries of the programme 100 farmers were randomly selected as sample structured interview was scheduled for the selected farmers and the data obtained was analysed using the percentage method. It was revealed among others things that the farmers lack soil laboratory facility, farm housing processing and storage facilities which hindered the effectiveness and success of the programme. It was recommended among other things that there should be a strong collaboration among the Federal State and other relevant stakeholders including the private and non-governmental organizations in ensuring the provision, and adequate functioning of the necessary infrastructure.
